A day dedicated to sport and inclusion, Saturday, April 2 we were at the Wave Skatepark in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, in the province of Brescia to participate at the first big Italian day of "Skateboarding without limits". It was a day full of emotions: we had the chance to try Adaptive Skateboarding and WCMX (wheelchairs on ramp), we listened to stories about different types of disability, we watched national and international athletes demos, and above all we had fun and relaxed.
We at Aria Wheels have believed since the beginning in the inclusion and uniqueness of the event organized by the association Poison Wave, which has been managing and coordinating the activities at the Wave Skatepark center for years: thanks to the last project "Bilancio Partecipativo" promoted by the Comune of Palazzolo sull'Oglio it was able to improve the lighting system, to buy a WCMX wheelchair and to install a mini-ramp and other ramps for disabled people inside the park.
This was an extraordinary event in which 11 German athletes with disabilities also participated, performing WCMX and support the Wave team instructors who helped and taught to the youngest how to Skate.
In the afternoon we heard disability stories: Ilaria Naef, WCMX champion, and Piedmontese skater Giovanna Rinaudo; Palazzolo's Paralympic bronze medalist Veronica Yoko Plebani and, arrived from Rome, Paolo Pica, instructor, trainer and promoter of "Skating in the dark" didactics for blind people who want try skateborading.
We at Aria Wheels have hosted under our stand interested and curious people who have tried our ultralight wheelchairs. In addition, with us, there were two Ambassadors: Andrea Casillo, aka Kasy23 and Federico Villa.
Kasy23 was the one who invited us to participate in the event as he was the first guest: he, together with the writer AIZER, colored a wall of the Wave Skatepark structure.
In short, an event with an enormous social value that was able to talk and dialogue in the name of this fantastic sport.
