News at Aria Wheels: We found the ultimate Postural Cushion
We are always looking for solutions that can elevate the experience of those who choose an Aria wheelchair. We want every push to be smooth and every day to be lived to the fullest. In this spirit, we are happy to announce an innovation that will change the way you experience seating: the Libella Seat Lite cushion has been added to our price list and in our online configurators!
Aria and Libella: the first meeting at Rehacare
It all started at the Rehacare 2025 exhibition. That year, we attended as visitors and, while walking through the pavilions, our team was struck by Libella’s cushions. We immediately saw the huge potential of their products, so after the exhibition we tested some samples of their Basic model. Excited by the results, we worked with the Libella team to develop a custom solution for Aria wheelchairs.
By removing the carbon base plate, we created a new product optimised specifically for our wheelchairs: the Libella Seat Lite cushion.

What convinced us to start this partnership is how closely our philosophies align.
At Aria, we build active, ultra-lightweight, high-performance wheelchairs, and we know that a wheelchair can only perform at its best if the person sitting in it feels good. Proper posture and adequate pressure relief are crucial to push efficiently and to get through the whole day without pain or risk of injury.

We know how much weight matters to users, especially when pushing and transferring. Too often, people choose an ultra-lightweight wheelchair, only to add a heavy postural system that undoes the benefit. For this reason, weight was one of our fundamental requirements when we looked for a new partner for postural cushions.

The Libella Seat Lite was designed to keep weight to a minimum: without the carbon base, it weighs around 1.4 kg in an average size of 40x42 cm.
Thus, the lightness of our wheelchairs is not compromised, and the postural system remains extremely effective. Moreover, in our online configurators, you can also choose the shape of the internal parts to suit your specific needs. Thanks to the 3D-printed components, Libella’s cushions can be adapted to the specific user’s needs.
What is the Libella Seat Lite?
The Libella Seat Lite is a truly modular system made up of four layers that work together in perfect synergy:
3D-printed core: the heart of the cushion and its true innovation. Libella created this structure with differentiated densities: green components (medium stiffness) at the front stabilise the thighs, softer yellow components sit at the back, and white inserts, the softest variant of all, are placed under the ischial tuberosities to relieve pressure.
3D fabric layer: a thin layer protects the internal components from wear and improves weight distribution.
Latex layer: soft anti-decubitus foam with five ergonomic cut-outs designed for the areas most at risk.
Breathable cover: a functional 3D fabric wraps the internal structures and fits perfectly without creasing. The cover features a mesh base and a convenient pocket that also acts as a carrying handle.

2 types of contouring (Low and High): our price list includes two options for the Libella Seat Lite cushion. The Low Contouring (B) is ideal for those who already have good stability and trunk control; the High Contouring (C) offers more wrap around the pelvis and thighs, ideal for those who need extra stability to maintain a symmetrical, upright posture.
Fully adjustable and customizable: the 3D components can be replaced and customised individually. A therapist or technician can open the cover and swap the internal parts to increase support or to address risk areas, extending the cushion’s useful life.
Preserve the ideal microclimate: the perforated latex, resistant to mites and mould, works together with the open 3D fabric to dissipate heat and sweat, keeping the skin cool and dry.
Easy to wash: every part (cover, latex and 3D components) can be machine washed at 60 °C with a gentle spin (maximum 400 rpm).
Universal and secure: Velcro cross strips are sewn on the bottom of the cover, combining both the hook and loop sides. This ensures a secure hold on the wheelchair’s seat upholstery and prevents annoying and dangerous slipping during transfers.
