We are thrilled to introduce Alessandro Velata, content creator of the @rollinginlovee account and our new brand ambassador, who, after experiences with the Aria 1.0 (previous version) and Aria Speciale, has chosen the Aria 1.0 wheelchair as his new adventure companion.
Who is Alessandro Velata
Alessandro is a biomedical engineer who recently began his master's degree in mechatronics engineering. But his story goes far beyond academic titles: he's a wheelchair basketball athlete, a content creator, and above all, an example of how life in a wheelchair can be something beautiful and intense, even after events that seem to change everything forever.
Together with his partner Anita, Alessandro manages the @rollinginlovee account on Instagram and TikTok, where they educate about disability and couple life, sharing what they love about their relationship and inspiring thousands of people to overcome their own limits.
A Story of Rebirth
Six years ago, a motorcycle accident radically changed Alessandro's life. What strikes most about his story is the message of hope he conveys: "My life didn't end that day, but it began. A new life started, a new life in a different way, sitting in a wheelchair, but precisely because of this, my desire to live has grown."
The Meeting with Aria Wheels
The moment that changed Alessandro's perception of wheelchairs was precisely his encounter with Aria Wheels. While still hospitalised, he saw for the first time a fluorescent orange Aria wheelchair:
"I was still hospitalised when I saw this fluorescent orange wheelchair, and it immediately struck me. My eyes lit up and I understood that the wheelchair actually wasn't an ugly object that brought many problems, but could become a design object, and from there I understood that my life could restart with a different perspective and outlook."
A Journey with Aria Wheels
Alessandro began his journey with Aria Wheels with a magnesium Aria 1.0 wheelchair.
As he recalls: "It was a wheelchair that immediately struck me, both for its design and for the material, which is magnesium. It's a very light and very high-performance material. Once I tried it, I immediately fell in love."
After also using an Aria Speciale wheelchair, even lighter and more high-performing, Alessandro decided to choose the Aria 1.0 in its updated version as his new wheelchair.
Alessandro chose the new Aria 1.0 for two main reasons:
The ergonomic seat, which allows him to distribute ischial pressure better, stabilises the pelvis and prevents various types of injuries.
The tapered front is designed to contain the legs better, providing even more ergonomic support to the wheelchair and enhancing the driving experience.
The design is equally impressive, unique and unmistakable, made even more special by the choice of graphite grey colour.
Rolling in Love: A Couple's Life of Travel and Adventures
Alessandro and Anita never stop. They have travelled across Europe and experienced countless adventures together. Their project started as a game, posting a video about Interrail. The video became viral, showing how you can joke about your own disability and couple life. From there, they never stopped and continued to tell their daily life, presenting with irony the difficulties, challenges, and adventures they face together.
In this way, they managed to create a real community that counts over 40,000 followers on both Instagram and TikTok.
Their @rollinginlovee account continuously receives messages from people who have found inspiration in their content. As Alessandro tells: "There have been several people who took our videos as inspiration, whether they were standing or in wheelchairs, precisely because they felt the desire and felt encouraged to start doing new things."
Their main message is powerful and universal: "Limits actually exist only in our minds."
Looking to the Future
Alessandro and Anita have big projects for the future. As Alessandro explains: "Now with my new life companion, which is not Anita, but the new Aria wheelchair, we are ready to face new challenges and new projects."
Their goals are clear: reach as many people as possible to show that you can have a life in a wheelchair, a relationship in a wheelchair, and do everything you want.
