We're thrilled to announce that Tiendas Médicas Especializadas (TME) is our new country distributor in Colombia.
Located in Bogotá, TME is one of Colombia's top importers of medical and mobility equipment, and we believe this partnership opens an exciting new chapter for us in Latin America.
When Values Align: our first meeting at Rehacare
Our first meeting with TME happened at the Rehacare Trade Fair in Germany. Their team stopped by our booth and, as Jorge Santos, TME's CEO, told us, they were immediately struck by the design and build quality of our wheelchairs.
But what really sealed the deal wasn't just the product—it was the shared vision.
TME sees itself as "a bridge between technology, accessibility, and human well-being," which resonates deeply with our own mission. As Jorge explained: "We chose to distribute Aria wheelchairs because their philosophy and products align perfectly with TME's core values—innovation, exclusivity, and meaningful impact."
Founded in 2017, TME has grown into a major player in Colombia's healthcare sector, part of a holding group with over 100 professionals nationwide. They offer comprehensive solutions from advanced wound care to mobility technologies, all driven by one purpose: improving patients' quality of life through innovation, accessibility, and compassionate care.
Addressing a Real Challenge: The Waiting Time Crisis
Working with TME has opened our eyes to a significant challenge in Colombia's healthcare system. As Jorge shared with us: "One of the biggest challenges patients face is the limited and delayed access to quality medical devices. It can often take three to four months for a person to receive a customized wheelchair through the public healthcare system."
Three to four months. That's a long time to wait for mobility, independence, and quality of life.
TME is tackling this head-on by maintaining a wide, ready-to-ship inventory. With our wheelchairs now available locally, they can significantly reduce waiting times and respond quickly to diverse user needs.
Beyond the Product: A Holistic Approach to Care
What convinced us that TME was the right partner goes beyond logistics. They've built something special: a nationwide network of physiotherapists who accompany each patient throughout their entire journey.
"We have built a nationwide network of physiotherapists who accompany each patient from the initial assessment and customization of the wheelchair to hands-on delivery and training," Jorge told us. "This ensures that both patients and caregivers receive the right education and support to achieve a long-term, complication-free mobility solution."
This is exactly the kind of support every wheelchair user deserves—and it's what sets TME apart.
The User Experience: When Quality Speaks for Itself
We always love hearing how people react when they first experience our wheelchairs. Jorge shared some feedback that made us smile:
"Every customer who experiences an Aria wheelchair is genuinely amazed by its lightness and exceptional build quality. Many describe it as a completely new experience, combining comfort, elegance, and freedom of movement in a way they hadn't imagined before."
TME's team has their own favorite too—the Aria 2.0, which they appreciate for its refined design. When Jorge described what makes our wheelchairs stand out, he highlighted three things: "design innovation, the use of advanced materials, and the outstanding build quality of each wheelchair."
It's this attention to detail—from materials to aesthetics to engineering—that we work to perfect in every model we create.
Setting New Standards: The Vision for Colombia
When we asked Jorge about his goals for Aria in Colombia, his answer captured exactly why this partnership feels so right:
"Our goal is to position Aria as the Ferrari of wheelchairs—a brand that represents innovation, performance, and exceptional design. We want users in Colombia to have access to truly premium mobility solutions, products that combine cutting-edge technology, lightweight materials, and refined aesthetics to deliver an experience that redefines independence and quality of life."
TME envisions becoming the most trusted and forward-thinking medical supply company in Latin America, recognized for service excellence, innovation, and human-centered care. We couldn't be more aligned.
A Partnership Built on Purpose
This collaboration with TME isn't just a distribution agreement. It's the meeting of two companies that believe mobility solutions should be accessible, innovative, and life-changing.
We're excited to bring our wheelchairs to Colombia through a partner that shares our commitment to quality, innovation, and—most importantly—putting users first.
Welcome aboard, TME. Let's change lives together. 🇨🇴
